Week 74: Temple, Copper Cars, and Tinsel! πŸŽ„

Week 74: Temple, Cop Cars, and Tinsel! 🎄

¡Familia y Amigos!

Hello folks! This week was amazing! We had some pretty great service opportunities and really have been so blessed!

So we didn't have very many teaching appointments this last week because of thanksgiving- people going out of town, spending time with family, cleaning, recovering from food comas- you name it! People were very busy! But the ones we did have went really well!

Also - have you all checked out #LIGHTtheWORLD!? IT IS SO INCREDIBLE. We have seen so many hearts soften and so many people willing to participate in this worldwide efforts to spread the light of Jesus Christ to everyone! If you haven't checked it out head over to Mormon.org and find out how you can share light with others :)

Speaking of lighting the world- we helped put up so many decorations this week! It was neat to help people place Christmas decorations and talk about the true meaning of a Christmas amidst all the sparkly lights, and shiny tinsel- It's all about the Light and Love Heavenly Father sent to us- Jesus Christ!

We were able to go to the temple this morning and it was BEAUTIFUL and amazing, as always! It's almost been a year since the last time I was able to go, so it really made me appreciate being so close to a temple and even having one in my mission! If you live near a temple- take the time and go!

2.0

This week's 2.0 is our Funny Story/Miracle of the Week:

We started off the day and prayed for the Lord to lead us to those who are prepared to hear the gospel, or that He would lead them to us and so we were out contacting people who previously met with missionaries one night, and since daylight savings time happened it gets dark around 6:45 -7ish.

There was one person in particular we felt like we should stop by and visit. It was about 7 and we knocked a few times and no one answered. So as we drove out of the neighborhood, there was a police car at the entrance and we didn't think too much of it since we have a tiwi- so we weren't speeding, and we came to a complete stop at the stop sign. Well, the car follows us for a good few minutes and even followed us as we drove into an apartment complex.

Well, as soon as we parked we were about to pray, and Sister Masina says: "Sis, He's coming over!" So we rolled down our window as he shined his light in and he starts talking to us:

Him: 'Hi, I'm Officer H_____ and I just wanted to make contact with you all and see what you're out doing!'

Us: 'Oh! Well we are missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and we are out sharing the gospel!'

Him: '...Oh... talks into his walkie-talkie and ends in 'all other units are clear''

So turns out, the person we had tried to contact called the police on us which isn't too rare in this area), and was really freaked out! But amidst this interesting encounter we had a miracle!

The officer went on to ask us where the church was at, what we do as missionaries, where we were from, why we were out here. As we were explaining that we leave our family and friends and school to come on our missions- he starts asking what we believe! So we shared the restoration with him and ended up inviting him to come to church and to check out #LIGHTtheWORLD on Mormon.org! We ended up talking with him for about 10 minutes and then asked what his name was again and he introduced himself by his First name.

It was INCREDIBLE to see the light that came to his eyes as we testified of the Restoration and how it has brought so much Joy into our lives! And so miracle was- even though the former called the police on us, Andrew was led to us! Our prayers were answered.

So this week I am extremely grateful that the Lord works in mysterious ways and am grateful there are many opportunities to share the gospel! :)

I know the Lord places people in our paths for a reason! As we have the courage to simply open our mouths, they are filled and we are filled with the Spirit. I love my Savior and I'm so grateful to be a missionary!

Love you all and hope you have a week full of miracles!
